As part of the City of Toronto’s “Avenues” initiatives, this study of Lake Shore Boulevard West examines this important main street area in order to provide a vision of its future form through intensification. The study also identified steps that need to be taken by the City of Toronto and other stakeholders in order to implement, encourage and promote the achievement of this vision.
The opportunities for Lake Shore Boulevard West in Long Branch include new, transit supportive, mixed-use intensification with more people living in and near Lake Shore Boulevard, an improved public realm for Lake Shore Boulevard West and the larger open space system of the area, and revitalization of existing retail shopping opportunities.
